About baklawa cookies

In everyday life, we often eat cookies regularly, whether it’s cumin cookies, chocolate cookies, or wheat cookies.

Whether it’s the glass of milk given to kids in the morning or tea in the evening, we always need something to snack on.

So, thinking about this, an idea came to my mind—why not try something new? And I made Baklava Cookies. Until now, we’ve only had Baklava, which is made from sheets of refined flour.

Baklava typically has a pistachio filling, but Baklava Cookies are even more delicious. I’ve used a filling of walnuts and blueberries for these cookies. The same filling is stuffed into the cookies and then baked to perfection.

They turned out to be incredibly tasty! To enhance the flavor of the Baklava Cookies, I also added cinnamon powder.

This adds a unique taste and aroma to the cookies. So, let’s try this recipe! If you liked this recipe, don’t forget to check out my other recipes by clicking on the link below.

How to make baklawa filling

To make Baklava Cookies, grind walnuts, blueberries, icing sugar, and cinnamon powder together. Now, take this mixture out into a bowl and mix in the honey to prepare it into a dough-like consistency.

How to make baklawa cookies

Take a bowl and add butter along with brown sugar. Beat it until it becomes fluffy. Now, sift the baking powder and baking soda into the flour and mix well. Add this to the butter mixture and combine thoroughly. Use a little milk to bring it together into a dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes.

After refrigeration, remove the cling wrap and knead the dough lightly for 2 minutes. Divide it into small balls. Fill each ball with the prepared filling and shape it into cookies. Repeat for all the cookies.

Preheat the oven to 160°C and bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes. Your Baklava Cookies are ready

Tips

In Baklava Cookies, you can add other dry fruits of your choice apart from walnuts.

Here, I’ve used brown sugar with butter, but you can skip it if you prefer. You can also replace brown sugar with regular sugar.
