Maize, also known as corn in English, is a versatile grain. Typically, cookies are made using refined flour (maida). Cookies made with refined flour are very tasty to eat.

From a health perspective, consuming too much refined flour is not ideal. That’s why I made maize cookies. Maize is rich in fiber, making it a healthier alternative.

Maize contains fiber and is quite beneficial from a health perspective. It is a gluten-free food. Making maize cookies is very simple and easy.

These cookies are so tasty that there’s no need to add anything extra. To make maize cookies, I’ve used wheat flour along with maize flour.

These cookies are incredibly crispy and perfect for everyone at home, whether kids or adults. If you want to keep your family away from store-bought, adulterated, and unhealthy biscuits, these homemade cookies are a great alternative.

Maize Flour – 1 cup

Wheat Flour – 1/2 cup

Sugar – 1 cup

Butter – 1/2 cup

How to make maize cookies

To make maize cookies, take a bowl and add butter and powdered sugar. Whisk it well using a whisker. Add vanilla essence and mix it thoroughly. Now, add maize flour and wheat flour to the mixture. Gradually add a little milk to form a dough-like consistency. Preheat the oven to 180°C for 10 minutes. Take a microwave-safe tray and line it with butter paper. Place the cookies on the tray one by one. Bake them in the oven at 180°C for 15–20 minutes. Once the cookies are ready, remove them from the tray and place them on a cooling rack to cool down. Your best-ever maize flour cookies are ready! These cookies are incredibly tasty, so give them a try.

Tips

When baking the cookies, make sure that they don’t burn from the bottom. They should only turn light brown in color.

You can skip the wheat flour if you prefer.

Do not pack the cookies while they are still hot. Let them cool properly in the air, and then store them in an airtight container.
