  • Turmeric Powder: 1 pinch
  • Powdered Sugar: 70 grams
  • Pistachios: For garnishing
  • Edible Gum (Gond): 3 tablespoons

How to make besan ladoo

Cook the gram flour (besan) in ghee until it turns slightly golden and releases a delightful aroma. Turn off the gas and transfer it to a plate. Let it cool completely. Once cooled, add cardamom powder and either desi khand, powdered sugar, or bura sugar—whichever you prefer. I’ve added desi khand to mine. Mix it well and shape the mixture into laddus. Garnish with pistachios on top. And there you have it—delicious, market-style laddus ready to enjoy.

Tips

Take half the amount of sugar compared to besan and half the amount of ghee compared to sugar. This proportion ensures that the laddus bind perfectly.

To maintain a yellow color in the laddus, you can add a pinch of turmeric powder or use yellow food coloring.
