Vanilla cake batter

All purpose flour- 3/4 cup

Curd- 1/2 cup

Oil- 1/4 cup

Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup

Baking powder- 1/2 tsp

Baking soda- 1/4 tsp

Vanilla essence- 4-5 drops

 

Chocolate cake batter

All purpose flour-3/4 cup

Curd-1/2 cup

Oil-1/4 cup

Powdered sugar-1/2 cup

Baking powder-1/2 tsp

Baking soda-1/4 tsp

Chocolate essence- 4-5 drops

Coco powder- 1 tbsp

How to make marble cake 

To make marble cake, take two separate bowls. In one bowl, prepare the vanilla cake batter by mixing the yogurt, oil, and sugar together. Mix well until the sugar is fully incorporated. Then, add the vanilla essence, baking powder, baking soda, and flour, and mix it using the cut and fold method. In the second bowl, prepare the chocolate batter. The only difference here is that instead of vanilla essence, you will use chocolate essence and cocoa powder.

Now, grease the cake tin with oil and line it with butter paper. Start by adding one large spoonful of the vanilla batter into the tin, followed by one large spoonful of the chocolate batter on top. Continue alternating the batter — one spoonful of vanilla and then one spoonful of chocolate — until both batters are used up.

Next, take a toothpick and make a crisscross pattern, forming the marble design.

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20-25 minutes. To check if the cake is done, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is baked and ready.

Tips

If you are frosting the cake, you can adjust the amount of sugar accordingly.

For the chocolate cake batter, use the same quantities of ingredients as the vanilla cake batter. The only difference in the chocolate cake is the use of chocolate essence and cocoa powder.
