Making Falooda doesn’t require too many ingredients. With just 4-5 basic items like sabja seeds (basil seeds), milk, rose syrup, and falooda sev, you can create an amazing Falooda glass.

To prepare Falooda, different layers of ingredients are arranged, followed by adding chilled milk. Top it off with a scoop of chilled vanilla or any flavored ice cream, some dry fruits, and voilà! Your chilled glass of Falooda is ready to enjoy.

Indian Falooda is loved by everyone, from kids to adults. I really enjoy making and eating Falooda during the summer season. Whenever I have guests over, this is the drink I prefer making because it’s as easy as it is tasty. If you feel the flavor of ice cream in Falooda isn’t special enough, you can top it with malai kulfi or any other flavored kulfi for a unique twist.

Here are some tips and suggestions to help you make a great Falooda. If Falooda sev is not available, you can use vermicelli as a substitute. The key ingredient in Falooda is sabja seeds, which gives it its distinctive texture.

Sabja seeds are highly beneficial for the body. They are a major source of fiber and also provide protein and fats. Sabja is never consumed directly; it is soaked in water for about 10 minutes, during which it transforms into a jelly-like consistency. After this, it can be used in smoothies, falooda, or ice creams.

Sabja helps in relieving several health issues, such as constipation and controlling blood sugar levels. It is also great for the skin and hair.

As for Falooda, it can be made in a variety of flavors, such as Chocolate Falooda, Pineapple Falooda, Mango Falooda, etc. Chocolate Falooda is especially loved by children and can be served with chocolate chip ice cream or simple chocolate ice cream. It’s delicious in every way!

How to make falooda glass

To make a Royal Falooda glass, soak the sabja seeds in water for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, boil water for the vermicelli. Once the water boils, add the vermicelli and cook until it becomes soft. Strain it using a sieve and set it aside.

Take a decorative glass and first add rose syrup. Then, add the soaked sabja seeds. After that, layer the vermicelli and pour in the milk. Top it with as much vanilla ice cream as you like. Garnish with pistachios, tutti frutti, and a little rose syrup.

Your frozen Falooda dessert is now ready to serve.

Tips

While making Falooda glasses, we don’t need to stick to any particular measurements. You can adjust the recipe based on how sweet you want it to be.

If you prefer, you can add extra sugar to the milk. Since both ice cream and rose syrup already contain sweetness, I have not added sugar to the milk here.

After straining the vermicelli, it might seem sticky. But don’t worry, once it’s added to the milk, the strands will separate again.

Always use full-fat milk for making Falooda; it will enhance the taste and texture.

If you don’t want to use full-fat milk, you can thicken the milk by adding cornstarch or milk powder. After thickening, let the milk cool before assembling your Falooda glass.

You can adjust the amount of cornstarch or milk powder based on the quantity of milk you’re using.
