About instant uttapam

Making instant uttapam is very easy. It doesn’t take much time either. With just a little preparation, we can make very tasty uttapam. To make instant uttapam, I have used the MTR uttapam mix packet.

I prepared the batter by mixing water according to the measurements provided on the packet and cooked it on a non-stick pan. Instant uttapam is a great breakfast option to save time and serve to guests at home. However, there’s no comparison to the traditional uttapam made at home with rice and lentils.

This is because it doesn’t contain any preservatives. Being naturally fermented, it is also very beneficial for our health. Uttapam can be prepared in various varieties, such as ragi uttapam, oats uttapam, vegetable oats uttapam, onion-tomato uttapam, and more.

My favorite uttapam is onion-tomato uttapam, which I enjoy a lot. Whether it’s at a restaurant or an instant uttapam made at home, my first choice is always onion-tomato uttapam. And when paired with sambar and coconut chutney, it just makes my day. So, let’s start making instant uttapam. If you liked this recipe, click on the link below to explore my other recipes.

How to make instant uttapam

To make instant uttapam, take a bowl and add 300 grams of the mix. Add 350 grams of water and 200 grams of curd to it and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter. Set it aside for 10 minutes to let the batter ferment properly.

Now, take a non-stick pan and spread a little oil evenly on it. Pour the uttapam batter onto the pan. Top it with chopped tomatoes, onions, fresh coriander, and cashew pieces. Once it starts cooking, drizzle some oil around the edges of the uttapam. When it is cooked well on one side, flip it and cook the other side too.

Serve the hot uttapam with sambar and coconut chutney. Enjoy.
