About apple and carrot kheer

Although making kheer is quite common, and everyone knows how to make it, there are many varieties of kheer like rice kheer, vermicelli kheer, sabudana kheer, etc. But when it comes to apple and carrot kheer, it’s a unique and delicious variation.

So, this dish can also be called kids-friendly because children really love it. Moreover, it doesn’t take much time to prepare and is healthy too. When it comes to fruits, children tend to scrunch their noses and faces when they see something, but this dish is so delicious that they’ll definitely enjoy it.

Another thing that children tend to avoid at first sight is milk. That’s why for those who don’t drink milk, kheer is a great option. Not only is it eaten for its taste, but it also helps in fulfilling the nutritional benefits like calcium found in milk.

After a lot of coaxing and scolding, children might finally eat something from our hands. But that’s not the case with apple and carrot kheer. Kids love eating this kheer with all their heart. We can even make this dish in the microwave, but I made it on the gas. When making kheer, it’s best to use full-fat milk.

This makes the kheer turn out better. But here, I’ve used milkmaid instead of sugar, which gives the milk a nice thickness. Apple and carrot kheer can also be eaten during fasting times.

Eating this keeps the body energized and reduces the feeling of hunger. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s make apple and carrot kheer. To read more of my recipes like this, don’t forget to click on the link below.

How to make apple and carrot kheer

To make apple and carrot kheer, first heat the milk in a pan. Once the milk comes to a boil, add the milkmaid and mix well. On the other side, grate the carrots and add them to the milk. Let them cook in the milk. Once the carrots are cooked well, add the grated apple to the milk and let it cook for 2-3 more boils. Turn off the gas flame and decorate with chopped pistachios. If you like, you can also decorate it with tutti-frutti for kids.

Tips

When adding apple to the kheer, grate it just before adding to prevent it from turning black.

Add the apple only after the carrots have cooked properly in the kheer.

Milkmaid is optional. You can skip it and use sugar instead if you prefer.

In my recipe, I used milkmaid instead of sugar in the kheer for a richer texture and sweetness.
